The Interreg Europe project DeCo aims to improve local, regional and national development policies through exchange of experience, innovative approaches and capacity building in sustainable and circular design, production and manufacturing. It supports EU goals to reduce emissions, promote sustainable products, strengthen circular business models and empower consumers for the green transition.

Although many European regions have developed good practices in circular production and design, significant potential remains untapped and many solutions are not yet widely implemented. Valuable knowledge and experience still need to be shared among European stakeholders.

DeCo focuses on identifying good practices in design and production and fostering knowledge exchange between industries. As a result, awareness of design’s role in sustainable production will grow, while policy instruments will be strengthened, contributing to the European Green Deal.
