The Institute conducts research, public engagement and outreach, and commercial activities in the field of crop protection in Poland. Its research priorities include food safety, agricultural environment protection and biodiversity preservation. Within its scope, the research work focuses on the biology and harmfulness of pests, modern pest control methods, integrated plant management, plant protection in organic farming, testing of residues and quality of plant protection products, and modern plant protection techniques and precision farming. The Institute’s scholars develop systems that support treatment authorization, strategy development to prevent pest resistance to plant protection products, and the use of molecular biology in plant protection.
