The Institute of Rural and Agricultural Development of the Polish Academy of Sciences is a scientific, opinion-forming, and advisory institution that has been conducting interdisciplinary basic and applied research in the field of social sciences since 1971. The Institute is a leading research entity in the country, focusing on identifying and explaining development mechanisms and their effects on the evolving role of rural areas in the social, economic, and cultural life of the country. For over 10 years, IRWiR PAN, in partnership with the EFRWP Foundation, has been implementing the project "Monitoring Rural Development."
